Affiliate Marketing Horse
How can I improve this website for selling AQHA & APHA horses?
I helped my friend with her website www.rockinkhorsecompany.viviti.com to market her affiliates’ AQHA & APHA foals and I’d like to know what buyers want to see when they visit the site. Right now it’s a free site and we can’t upgrade to more storage and more pages until she sells a few and earns her commission. We plan to add links to allbreedpedigree.com, but we are maxed out on number of pictures and number of webpages. However, I can change pix, add info, change layout, etc.
I appreciate any and all input!
If you can’t upgrade, I wouldn’t use that site at all. I would use wordpress. They have layouts where it isn’t like a blog and there are no page/link/photo maximums really. You could do an individual gallery for each horse too, and add video.
As for what you’ve got…black backgrounds aren’t good for businesses/selling. It is harder to read and your subconscious likes it less – recent studies say the primaries are good colors to draw you in if they aren’t ridiculously bright. Always go neutral. By the same idea, the rainbow up top isn’t doing you any favors either.
Titling the first thing My Website seems kind of redundant
Since you’ve only got three pages, having a whole page dedicated to Contact Us doesn’t make sense. About Us can have the contact info as well, or it can be on the front page. Really, you don’t even need an About Us section. It’s nice to be able to look at, but not necessary.
That would leave you with a page that could be the Sale Barn page. It doesn’t even look like she is selling horses with what you’ve got right now. There are a few photos, but no info.
As a buyer, I would want to see:
A conformation photo
Some basic information – breeding, height, discipline, etc. Anything you would put in an ad.
An undersaddle photo (or liberty photo for the babies)
A video undersaddle

It’s set up like a blog, but you can see how on other pages, you can add a photo and then a blurb. Basically, you’d be able to set it pretty much like a real site with a different template.
