Why do people discount the Yankees minor league system?
The AAA affiliate won the league title in 2008, and made the finals in 2009 the AA affiliate won the league title in 2007 and 2008, and the A affiliate won the league title in 2000, 2002, 2005, 2006, and 2009. If we can only buy championships and can’t build our own prospects why are our minor league affiliates often very successful when pitted against other team’s affiliates?
For me it is “What have you done lately?”
It is time to get over lauding on the greats that came up in the 90″s. What have they done since then? A couple of mediocre pitcher and a decent second base man. That hardly makes a great farm system.
