Internet Marketing Analyst

internet marketing analyst
How should I start job hunting? I am in third semester of regular MBA in Major Marketing Minor Finance?

I have aspiration to get into the field of Marketing Communictions where even interested to get into the job of Market Analyst however on surfing thru the internet its all about sale and sale.

Is it the actual secret that there are no jobs to get in for males except selling when it comes to a marketing professional.

I have experience of 2 years in hotel sales with 5star hotel , dont wnat to make career in hospitality made a choice to do MBA but now little confused how and what is the way to hunt and start my career.

any helping suggestions please?

It sounds like your first instinct is to return to high-end hotels but don’t know where else to go. But in this languid economy, you should be ready to cast a wider net. I’d strongly advise you to leverage your work experience as your — in Michael Porter’s terminology — competitive advantage. What other business would benefit from your unique work experience?

Off the top of my head, I’d suggest 3-star and 4-star hotels. To a specific target market, what perception differences are there between the Four Seasons and a Hyatt or Radisson? In identified target markets, is there a large actual gap? If not, how can that be communicated? Could you do the same thing in other industries: car rental, hospitaltiy suites, restaurants, and country clubs? That sounds like a thesis.

If this is sound interesting to you, talk to your student advisor about how to get there. I suggest taking additional classes in competitive strategy.

One bit of advice: Think of someone in your MBA program, preferrably a hard worker you don’t like. Project what ther person would do to get the job you want, and go further. Getting a job is about competition. Everybody will do certain things to prepare. What else will you do? How bad do you want it?

Hope that helps.
