Marketing apartment units to people with low income! Need to fill 30 units!?
Hello – I agreed to help a owner of an apartment building in the Cleveland Ohio area. I know we can not talk about area, but most of the renters to not make much money. 1 bedroom is about 550 and 2 bedroom is 650. I usually market on the internet. The owner has 30 unit to fill and usually just advertises on craigslist. If most of the people renting these units do not have money I would assume they do not use the computer. I think we could send a lot of flyers out and I think he should advertise in the apartment book that is free at grocery stores. Any ideas – the owner wants to fill 30 units in 3 months?
Go to the Cleveland Housing Authority and get on their list of tenants that accept Section 8 housing, or low income housing.
You can probably fill them all right there without the cost of advertising.
Also, go to the other tenants already living there and offer a Cash award or 1 months free rent for a referral that rents with you, puts down who referred them on the application and stays for 90 days. After the end of the 90 days, the months free rent goes to the tenant that referred them.
This too is an excellent way to keep you properties full.
