Buying a house/condo – Is it time?
Hello all,
I’m living in southeast Florida and renting, but we know that this has been a buyers market recently so I’m definitely in the market looking to buy an apartment or condo. My question is: In this down real estate market is now the time to buy or should I wait to see if the market gets even lower?
People were saying last year that the autumn/winter of 2008 would be the time to buy but I’ve been reading the news on the internet that more foreclosures are piling up which brings the market down, so maybe I should wait a little longer?
What reasoning or proof does anyone have on whether now is the time to buy or not?

You have to balance the risk of further market decline against the risk of future interest rate increases. No one knows for sure – there is no “proof.” If you plan on keeping the home for a long time, now is a good time.
