True-crypt Open Source Re-Branding?
I want to rebuild an application from source-code of “Truecrypt”, an open source encryption software used to encrypt storage devices, volumes etc for security.http://www.truecrypt.org
I want to re-build the software with my own company’s logo, etc. so
that I can market it (sell it) under my companies name. First of all,
is that allowed under the GPL, under which I believe all of
open-source software are released.
Is it possible to modify the GUI of “Truecrypt”. If yes, then what
would be the software tools needed to modify the GUI. Will the
procedure be easy and fast.
What prerequisites I need to fulfill to pull it off. I am not much of
a programmer but have done some Visual Basic projects a computer grad by education, a big tech geek and an avid internet researcher mainly everything related to
computers.
