Internet Marketing Thailand
Do you think the languages YA is available in seem a bit odd?
The Spanish, Portuguese, German, Chinese versions make sense, but the other languages seem completely random to me. Why would there be a market for Yahoo Answers Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia when persona internet access is fairly low in those countries and the language in general is isolated only to those countries.
If there’s going to be versions for relativily small languages like Thai, Indonesian and Vietnamese, etc, why is there no YA Russian, Polish, Turkish, Arabic, etc, as there are many languages that are equally as important as Thai, Indonesian and Vietnamese. They seem very random choices.
Supply always follows demand. Yahoo doesn’t make random choices. It is a business, and it will only maintain international sections where there is sufficient demand to sustain the numbers necessary to generate advertising sales. It is not about the level of internet access in a country, but rather the level of intensity of interest and disposable income level of those who do have computers. This would make a promising subject for a research study if you are in the field of international business.
