can one actually earn money with “affiliate marketing”?
read something online that sounds like a legitimate deal. i usually assume all online money-making programs are a scam. are there real jobs out there that pay decently for working online from home?
Affiliate marketing is, in most cases, just another term for MLM, pyramid, and similar schemes. Most of the times, the affiliate marketing revolves around some kind of digital “product” that has to be marketed, and as an affiliate, it is up to you to actually make sales of the product. As a reward for the sales, you will get commissions.
Now, the crux is that actually getting leads and selling the product is a lot more work and takes a lot of invested time (and often money) to successfully pull off; in comparison, the commission received is quite disproportional for most affiliate marketing systems and setups – depending on the way it is set up, you might have to deal with a “down-line”: if you are offered partial commissions from people you sign up, especially multiple levels, you can be certain that you will NOT be able to make a decent buck from it unless you manage to get a lot of people to sign up under you who actually do the work. In that respect, it’s a scam, because getting out of the bottom layer of such systems is usually incredibly difficult.
The people trying to sign you up are, of course, trying to use all the tricks in the book to have them let you do their work for them (since that is what “affiliate marketing” is all about, in the simplest terms.
