You’ve probably heard or read a million and one stories of people who know how to making money through affiliate marketing. They tell of their success but don’t go into detail of what to do after you’ve joined an affiliate program.
Many affiliate aficionados have a tendency to outline the process as simply as:

- Find a product
- Create a website / landing page
- Write an article
- And wait for the floodgates to open and the money to flow in.
If only it was as easy as that, but making money through affiliate marketing requires some effort and initially quite a lot of effort.
Let’s take a look at the process outlined above and break it down into its distinct step.
Sign up at ClickBank
Certainly, by all means sign up at ClickBank. Once registered you can access you account at anytime and find products to sell.

Find a Product
You need to ask a few important questions to ascertain, amongst other things:
- What are people essentially buying?
- What at present are they interested in?
- At this time, which subjects are being searching?
- How are they searching for things?
It’s pointless promoting something that isn’t really go sell or putting in a lot of effort for very little reward. There is a well know marketing adage that says “You put as much effort in to promoting something that isn’t wanted as something that is”.
So spend time finding what is wanted, research, research, research. The time spent doing this will be repaid in sales!
Create a Website / Landing page
You build a landing page based on the keywords (keywords make your article search engine friendly) identified during your research process.
A landing page is somewhere you can show you product off – a website if you like, but you don’t need to be a web master to create a nice looking, quick to build easy to navigate page for free.
There are a number of options, such as:
- Squidoo
- Hub pages
- Weebly
- Blogger
To name but a few and there are excellent tutorials including many videos on line.
Write an article
To generate the volume of visitors to your landing page to make so money you’ll need to write a number of articles – this could be an on going process.
How to Write an Article
Create an outline for your article. It should include:
Headline - it has to be unique – so try to make it as catchy as possible.
Introduction - present their perceived problem/predicament.
Body - examine potential resolutions to their problem.
Conclusion - a brief summary of your article and a call (to the reader) to take affirmative action (NOW).
Resource box – a little about yourself / business and a link to your web site or newsletter.
Wait for the floodgates to open and the money to flow in.
So it not as easy and plain sailing as if first appears is it? You need to do this all over again with another article and another and another to get links back to you landing pages where you’re actually selling your product.
