Those are all good news for you. You can take advantage of the slew of online social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter. Make accounts on them, connect with people you know, spread the word about your business by blogging or publishing updates and promos, and let them spread the word further. Facebook is particularly suited for such purposes: you can create a fan page or a group specifically for your business and you can invite fans or group members to them who shall receive whatever updates you post on that page.
Soon, with hard work and discretion (yes, you need that; you cannot just flood your friends’ walls and dashboards with your status updates and tweets), your business will have a fan base of its own and you will not need to work as much on advertising. People will be re-posting, retweeting, and emailing about your online business and you can simply focus more on delivering the satisfactory products and/or services that your customers have come to expect from you. If you’ve been planning on such a business, don’t delay. There’s not much you need at the beginning apart from a computer, an Internet connection, and diligence. So start it now
