Online Business Day Counter
Was it wrong for me to get this record?
I was at a vintage jazz shop about a month ago and found an acetate original of the Velvet Underground’s first album. It was stickered at $50 and I took it to the counter. The store owner likes to double-check his records against an online database before he rings them up, just in case the price has fluctuated. I knew he did this and I also knew what his record was worth, so I waited for a day when his son was in the shop and busy on the computer. I also had hidden the record a couple months ago, in a stack of Charlie Mingus records.
Now I have the record and am selling it to the a third party dealer for $50,000 USD. Should I feel guilty? The rare record market is a mercenary business.
It is a tad immoral of you but whatever your gonna get $50,000. If you feel guilty do what it is ‘right’ but personally I wouldn’t, its the store owners fault for leaving his obviously incapable son in charge.
