Online Business Marketing Degrees
Best College for Marketing MA (online)?
I currently have a BA in communications (focus on advertising) and minor in art. I am looking to continue my education and receive my Masters in marketing or an equivalent field. I see many options for MBA and MA of communication – both seem very broad. I’m really not wanting to get in to the CPA side of things – which is why I wasn’t sure about the MBA. Also, because I don’t have a business degree, it takes twice as long. I need a program that is 100% online because of my work commitments (but only interested in state colleges/universities or private institutions… no tech colleges). Any recommendations for a college that offers an MA in marketing online?
Getting an MBA does not in anyway require you to take the CPA. There is actually no relationship between the two so you can take an MBA even if you don’t want to be a CPA.
I think an MBA would probably help you more than an MA in Marketing would.
Most MBA programs allow you to select a concentration. Your concentration would of course be marketing even though some business schools (like New York University where I currently go to school) have more than 20 different concentration areas because the BA in MBA, Business Administration is indeed a broad field.
Having said that, it’s also important for you to know that most (if not all) online programs are looked down upon by employers. I assume that your reason for wanting to get an advanced degree is because you want to rise in your career. Online schools like University of Phoenix, Capella University and the rest of them would probably not do that for you.
