Online Business Name Registration
What is a start-up cost of an online retail store?
I’d like to open a business and start an online shop selling certain cosmetic and hygiene products (the concept will be unique, but it is a different story). I am trying to approximate the cost of launching this business. Business registration, logo, stationary, software, domain name, website design and hosting, inventory, warehousing, other fees etc etc. I made a checklist, but I am worried that my calculations may be way off. How much $$$ am I gonna need? Can you give me a ballpark figure, a range? Maybe from your own biz experience? Thank you!

Your largest expense will be based upon how much inventory you need to keep at hand for the start-up.
Domain name, logo design, business registration, software, hosting can all be done with under $1,000
Try to use as much FREE software as possible; for example; instead of paying for email hosting use Gmail. Did you know you can send and receive emails using your own domain name with Gmail? It looks professional and doesn’t cost a penny.
Instead of purchasing a licensed shopping cart ($1,500), go for a hosted shopping cart $25 start-up cost.
Logo, you can have a friend or family member design something simple on Photoshop for you at low or no cost.
Stationary; you will be dealing mostly electronically so printed materials can be done in-house like a simple invoice using Excel to print and send with shipments.
I could go on on how to set up a dedicated business phone line for free and other things but trust me; you can start an online store on a very small budget.
