Online Business Networking Sites
How do businesses and companies benefit from online networking sites?
When I mean online networking sites, I mainly mean Myspace.
You mean SOCIAL networking sites.
No legitimate business would use mySpace as a selling point for a business. MySpace is free. Myspace is a teen hangout. It would provide zero to negligible business networking benefits. If anything, it makes you look even more amateur and unprofessional than selling on eBay.
My wife uses mySpace but has a BUSINESS website. She uses mySpace to post personal pictures, interact with other members in her business niche, but does so OFF THE CLOCK. She does not use it to promote her business, that would bring it down and make it cheesy. She keeps her social networking separate from her business networking.
Activities on mySpace are the Internet equivalent of meeting a client for a drink at a bar after hours to discuss ANYTHING but business.
Business networking on the Internet takes place in the form of – you guessed it – business networking sites and message boards relevant to the topic. For example, her business web site has it’s own message board, for discussions between customers and other networking affiliates. Her business web site does not link to her mySpace page.
