Is it wrong to lend a helping hand to a boyfriend when he is doing his homework?
my boyfriend is in MBA and I am in BS of business adminst. So I am familiar with what he studies in his class. Yesterday he complained to me that he was having trouble finding some information about a company for his PPT presentation. So I sat two hours looking for stuff for him online. And yes, I really found it and emailed it to him. Also I sent him a text telling him to check his mail for it. He sent me a response saying he would check it. But then at night when we were talking he kept complaining about how tough the project was. In this conversation, he never thanked me for the research I did for him nor there was any thank you reply to my email. So I was just wondering if guys hate it when their girlfriends try to help them in school work?
It doesn’t sound like he hated it. Otherwise he would have complained to you about it. What it actually sounds like is that he didn’t appreciate it.
When helping someone with their homework or assignments, I’ve generally found it’s better to show them how to reach their solution than providing it for them. That way they actually learn the material or learn how to figure it out. It’s kind of along the lines of that old saying, ‘Give a man to fish and he eat today. Teach a man to fish and he eats forever.’
