Where to take an online course on creating a website?
Hey there,
I’m a university student about to go abroad. I would like to learn how to create a website as I believe knowing how to do it would benefit me in the future. Also, I have some ideas about creating my own website. Do you know any schools or institutions that provide an online course? I would like a reputable school. If you have ever taken a course at the school you are suggesting, please tell me what you did like and what you didn’t like about the school and how courses where given there. If it can narrow your answers, I live in Montreal (Quebec) and studying business administration. Thank you for your help.
You dont need a course for that. It takes about a half hour to learn how to design a website. If you want to know how to really do it (with html), then here is a free guide on how to do it from start to finish. It will teach you html in about 20 minutes. Why pay money and waste time going to a class, to learn something that most of us learned without one?

If you want to just make a basic website without the knowledge of html (not recomended), then sign up for website hosting somewhere. Most website hosts offer a site builder which even a 10 year old could use to make a website. Its extremely simple if you use programs to do it. The reason its not recommended is because if you dont know how to build a website with html, you will run into problems if you need to move your website to a different host. My aunt and uncle have a business, and host their website with Network Solutions which charges like $30 a month for hosting (big ripoff, most hosts only charge like $10 at the most). I own a hosting company and told them I could host it for free for them, but they spent all this time building their website with the sitebuilder at Network Solutions, so if they wanted to use the Site Builder my hosting company has, it wouldnt be compatible. They dont know HTML so there’d be no way for them to modify their website on their own, they would have to build it from scratch again. So I suggest you learn html, I learned it in about an hour, never went to school and I have over 30 websites now and use them as my main source of income.
