Online Business Shoes
I just started a new shoe retail business. Would it be better for me to start an Ebay Store online or create?
my own online website?
A little more info would help. Do you have an actual store front as well? If so it is best to stay away from ebay (there can be a stigma you do not want attached to you). The plus side to a website is that it is all about you and not about ebay. Add the fact that anything that is ordered from you can be pulled right from your existing stock.
But for the love of god, why shoes? They are BY FAR the worst and hardest things to sell online (well offline as well) if you do not have the starting capital. If there is a shoe that ranges from size 5 through 9 and it comes in 5 colors, that is 50 pairs of shoes you have to buy, yet you then only offer 1 type of shoe (lol and you only have 1 of each).
Just saying this is something to consider when selling online. Shoes have one of the highest return rates of any item. What do you do with all the returns? That is an awful lot of shipping cost you are going to have to eat. Appareal has its perks, but it has its throwbacks as well. The biggest one being selling online. lol Trust me I have been doing online and actual storefronts for years (selling ladies apparel) and it is more work then it is worth. One of the first things we stopped offering online was shoes. The 65% return rate is brutal (unless you have really deep pockets)…. lol even tho you know they wore the shoes out for that special occasion and now want their money back & here do something with these smelly shoes.
