What should I wear for job hunting?
Hey! I’m going job hunting tomorrow, and I’m looking for tips on what I should wear? I’m 17, just graduated high school and i’m now looking for a part time job while i’m waiting for the university that I want to accept me. I’m going to be applying to retail stores.
I looked for tips online but all they gave me where very high end and business like wear for example, a blazer and skirt, and I don’t think that’s very ideal for me, since I am young and I’m not exactly going for a job in an office.
Also if you have any tips on how to approach the employees in a store that i will be giving my resume to. It would be great if you guys could help me out!

You need to dress to impress! If you are going for clothing retail jobs, wear their brand of clothing (if you can). Or you can wear a nice right-below-the-knee skirt, a nice shirt that does not have a plunging neckline (do not show cleavage). Even a nice pair of skinny jeans would be good with a nice shirt. Make sure the pants are not ratty at the bottom. Wear low heels, not too high. Dress simple, do not wear any crazy patterns, or any crazy bright colors. Black and white are universally safe interview colors. Wear light make-up and only 1 piece of jewelry. Also make sure to style your hair nicely.

They are both professional looking but not crazy business attire.
When you approach show a lot of confidence. Stand up straight and make sure to be very VERY pleasant to everyone in the store (even customers). Smile a lot and remember to use “please” and “thank you” etc. You could walk up to a sales associate and say “Excuse me, I don’t mean to interrupt are you hiring at the moment?” It would also help to ask to speak to a manager, and if that happens shake his/her hand.
