Online Business Training Programs
Is volunteering a good way to build receptionist skills?
I would like to eventually find a full-time position as a receptionist, either in a business or physician’s office. However, there are no formal training programs in my area, and I’m not interested in online classes. I’ve found several volunteer opportunities (Office work at Planned Parenthood, low-cost health clinics, etc.). Would a year or so of volunteered office tasks look favorable on a future resume? Thanks!
Volunteer service/work is work experience!!! Many people do not realize this. You are wise to choose to do this for at least a year-if you see the experience required when looking for a job many employers want at least 3 yrs(yes, it is a catch 22-in order to get a job you need experience how can you get experience if you can’t get a job). Many volunteer positions can become paid positions.
