Is selling homemade clothes online successful?
I love to make real unique corsets, tops, skirts, hair accessories, purses, wallets, belts, and change purses. I wanted to know if I’d have success with this before I even attempt it.
I personally don’t care for selling electronics, antiques, and bulk packs of brand name clothing. That seems to be the trend on eBay, but that’s not what I want to do. I just want to start of with a small business with doing what I love. I have a big interest in vintage/Victorian corsets and would like to make them for people. They’re hard to find, and when you do find them online, they’re outrageously overpriced. I promise to make them and sell them at a lower cost than those stores.
Does anyone know if it’s a good idea to sell them on eBay or Etsy?
How much money do you make personally if you sell homemade items?
Would people rather buy brand name clothes, or unique homemade clothes?
It would be nice if an experiences eBay or Etsy seller helped me out. Thanks if you can help me.
Hi! You shouldn’t be comparing Victorian corsets to everyday branded clothing. They obviously do not cater to the same market. As your customized vintage corset is one special niche, you need to present it in a way that you will reach your targeted market. Join groups and participate in forums dedicated to these niche, and it won’t be far for you to get interested buyers. Etsy is a good place since people go there looking for handmade crafts, and eBay, it its own way can also be a good exposure for its steady traffic.
